While the whole of Galway is closed for a snow day today some of us still had to go in honestly doesn’t make any sense. I was meant to be in work as well but what is the point having four of us in when there will be no customers? If 
there is customers what the hell are they thinking going out in the freezing cold and “red alert warning” to look at shoes. It will cost more on overheads (wages, heating, electricity) to have the place open today meaning the business will actually lose money today so why open?
I just can not comprehend the thinking behind this at all and I have studied business also helped run our family business for years so I fully understand the pros/cons and in a situation like this there is near to no pros to opening. Thankfully I was told just before I left my house that I didn’t have to come in because if I had started walking to work only to be rang on the way to say don’t come in I would have been incredibly annoyed. It is meant to be open till 7 and all I can think is the poor girls will be freezing and bored out of their minds
because there is nothing to be done as it’s all been done over the past few days
The decision should have been made last night to save the girls going in because it will cost them more going in with the cost of petrol/diesel for their cars and the cost of a taxi for the other. They should have been let stay in bed warm and cosy for the sake of one day because lets face it if there is any money in the till it will be a miracle on a day like today 😛 The snow isn’t even that bad we haven’t got it very heavy but it is extremely cold. The pictures I have included are all from yesterday and it did snow more over night so there is more today then yesterday another reason to not have the place open today even more unsafe for traveling.
Hope everyone is enjoying the snow and staying safe as well 🙂 The best thing about the snow in my mind is that you can get some really nice pictures of it I’m kind of tempted to go out in it to see if I can get any nice ones but I will freeze.
